Why book a driver for a business trip to Jeddah?
A Jeddah business driver is a car and driver you book for your visit: the airport pickup, a day of meetings, a client dinner and the drive back to the airport. You agree the times and the vehicle once on WhatsApp, and every fare is fixed before the ride.
Jeddah stretches a long way along the Red Sea coast, and meetings are often in different districts. Business travellers mostly stay along Prince Sultan Road, Tahlia Street and the Corniche. With a driver who waits at each stop, you do not look for parking, request a new ride after each meeting or explain the address again.
Arriving at Jeddah Airport
King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) is about 20 km from the city, roughly 25 min by car. Terminal 1 handles most scheduled flights, and your ticket shows the terminal. Your driver waits in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall at the exit after customs, holding a name board.
We track your flight, and the driver waits free for 60 minutes after landing, so a delay costs you nothing. The driver's name and plate are sent the day before. Our Terminal 1 arrivals guide walks you through the hall step by step.
What does a business driver cost in Jeddah?
Fares are per car and include fuel, tolls, the driver and meet-and-greet. There is no surge pricing. Rides between 00:00 and 05:00 carry a 20% night surcharge, which is shown in your quote. Hourly bookings have a 3-hour minimum.
| Vehicle | Seats | Airport to city hotel | Per hour | 3-hour minimum |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Economy sedan | 1 to 3 | SAR 60 | SAR 80 | SAR 240 |
| Standard sedan | 1 to 3 | SAR 70 | SAR 95 | SAR 285 |
| SUV | 4 to 7 | SAR 140 | SAR 180 | SAR 540 |
| Family van | 7 to 11 | SAR 120 | SAR 150 | SAR 450 |
| Luxury / VIP | 1 to 4 | SAR 350 | SAR 400 | SAR 1,200 |
Hourly driver or separate rides?
If you have three or more stops in a day, book by the hour. The driver waits outside each meeting with your bags or samples in the car, and is ready when you come out. For a single trip, such as the airport run on your last day, a fixed point-to-point fare costs less. Our hourly vs point-to-point comparison sets out the trade-off.
A typical meeting day with an hourly driver looks like this:
- Pickup at your hotel at the time you set.
- Meetings in two or three districts, with the driver waiting at each one.
- Lunch or a site visit between meetings.
- An evening client dinner, or a walk in Al-Balad, Jeddah's UNESCO-listed old town.
- Drop back at the hotel. If a meeting runs late, message us on WhatsApp to extend the booking.
Trips outside the city: Makkah and KAEC
If you are Muslim, you can add Umrah to a Jeddah visit. Jeddah to Makkah is 95 km on the Haramain Expressway, about 1 h 15 min, from SAR 190 in a standard sedan. Only Muslims may enter Makkah, and Umrah needs a permit booked in the Nusuk app, so confirm the current rules on Nusuk first. Peak traffic on Thursday and Friday evenings adds 20 to 30 minutes.
KAUST and King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) are on the road north of Jeddah toward Rabigh. Drop-offs there need gate registration, so send the visitor's details with your booking. Jeddah to Rabigh is 150 km, about 1 h 30 min, from SAR 300 in a standard sedan.
Which car suits a business visit?
Most drivers speak English or Urdu as well as Arabic. Tell us the language you prefer and we match the driver.
- Standard sedan: Camry-class cars from model year 2022, with room for 3 suitcases. Our most-booked class for airport and intercity rides.
- Luxury / VIP: Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7 Series, Lexus LX 600 or Cadillac Escalade with a suited chauffeur, Wi-Fi and refreshments, for senior executives and client guests.
- SUV: GMC Yukon class with captain seats, for a small team of up to 7.
- Family van or group bus: a larger team moving between hotel, office and venue.
- Female driver: licensed female drivers work in Jeddah in Standard and Comfort vehicles; book 12 hours ahead.
Paying and invoicing
Pay per ride in cash (SAR) or by card in the car, or by bank transfer or the STC Bank app (formerly STC Pay) before the ride. If you need a receipt for expenses, ask when you book.
If your company sends people to Jeddah often, a corporate account puts every trip on one monthly invoice with VAT, with trip reports per cost centre and a dedicated dispatcher. Visitors' airport runs and meeting days go on the same invoice.
