Tabuk Airport guide: transfers to Tabuk, NEOM and the coast

A pre-booked Tabuk airport taxi reaches central Tabuk in about 15 min, from SAR 60 per car, and NEOM in about 2 h 45 min, from SAR 340. Your driver waits at the arrivals exit by the main doors, and NEOM sites need a gate pass arranged by your employer or host.

Tabuk airport taxi: what you need to know

A Tabuk airport taxi covers far more than the city. Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport (TUU) is the main entry point for NEOM contractors and for visitors to Wadi Disah and the north-west Red Sea coast. It has a single terminal, and the city centre is close by.

Most transfers fall into three groups: short rides into Tabuk, work trips to NEOM, and longer drives to the coast or to heritage sites. Each has its own planning points, covered below.

NEOM: gate passes and drop-off points

NEOM sites need access permission, which your employer, contractor or host arranges. Our drivers on NEOM runs hold valid gate passes, and we drop at camps such as Sharma and Gayal. Send us the site or camp name and your host's contact when you book, so the drop-off is confirmed the day before.

Some NEOM staff fly into NEOM Bay Airport instead of Tabuk. Our post on getting to NEOM compares the two airports and covers crew rotations.

Down to the coast: Duba, Haql and Al Wajh

  • Duba: 200 km, about 2 h 30 min. The road descends through the mountains to the Red Sea port town below NEOM.
  • Haql: 233 km, about 3 h 20 min. It sits on the Gulf of Aqaba within the NEOM area and is the closest Saudi town to Aqaba in Jordan.
  • Al Wajh: 351 km, about 4 h 30 min, by the coast road through Duba, with Red Sea Project site offices along the way.
  • For a Red Sea resort stay, check whether Red Sea International Airport suits you better. Our Red Sea resorts transfer guide explains the options.

Wadi Disah and sights around Tabuk

Wadi Disah is a canyon south of Tabuk with sandstone pillars, palm groves and a stream. It is a full-day trip, so we send an SUV, and you should carry water and snacks. In Tabuk itself, the castle and the old Hejaz Railway station are short visits close together.

Tayma, an ancient oasis known for the historic Haddaj well, is 262 km from the airport and makes a long day trip or a stop on the way to AlUla.

Flying out of Tabuk

Check your airline's check-in cut-off and work back. From central Tabuk the drive is about 15 min; from NEOM allow about 2 h 45 min, plus time to leave the site through the gate. Book the pickup by the day before so you have the driver's name and plate.

Companies can open a corporate account for crew changes and staff airport runs, with one monthly invoice including VAT and trip reports per cost centre.
