What is Wadi Disah?
Wadi Disah is a canyon south of Tabuk with tall sandstone pillars, palm groves and a stream. Most visitors spend about 6 h in the valley, and the best months are October to April.
It is about 200 km from Tabuk by road, so the drive both ways plus the time in the valley fill a long day. We send an SUV and price the trip as about 13 hours with the driver.
How do you get to Tabuk?
Most visitors fly into Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Airport (TUU), a single-terminal airport 10 km from the city. Your driver meets you at the arrivals exit by the main doors, tracks your flight and waits free for 60 minutes after landing. Our Tabuk Airport guide covers arrivals in detail.
| From | Distance | Time | Economy fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tabuk Airport (TUU) | 10 km | 15 min | SAR 60 |
| AlUla | 449 km | 6 h | SAR 770 |
| NEOM | 180 km | 2 h | SAR 310 |
Getting around Tabuk city
Tabuk's two main sights in town are close together. Tabuk Castle is a restored fort in central Tabuk on the old pilgrim road, and the Hejaz Railway Station is a restored station of the Ottoman Hejaz Railway with old carriages on display. Each takes about 45 min; check the station's opening times before you go.
Single rides inside the city start from SAR 60. To see both with the driver waiting, a return trip from your hotel costs from SAR 240, or keep a driver by the hour from SAR 80 per hour. The two make a good half day on your arrival or departure day, when a full trip to Wadi Disah would not fit.
The Wadi Disah day trip, step by step
Access arrangements for natural sites can change, so check the latest information with Visit Saudi before you go. After heavy rain, valleys can flood quickly, so if rain is forecast, change the date; our rain and sandstorm safety guide explains why.
- Start early. Pickup is from your hotel in Tabuk, so you have the best of the daylight in the valley, especially in winter when the days are shorter.
- The drive is about 200 km each way in an SUV, with a rest or prayer stop whenever you ask.
- In the valley, allow about 6 h to walk among the pillars, the palm groves and the stream.
- The driver waits for the whole visit and drives you back to Tabuk in the evening.
- Carry water and snacks for everyone, plus sun protection and a warm layer for the evening.
- Tell us the number of people and bags when you book, so we can confirm the SUV has room for everything.
What does the trip cost?
Fares are per car, fixed before the day, and include fuel, the driver and all waiting.
For groups of 8 or more, we send two SUVs and quote the total on WhatsApp.
| Trip | Vehicle | Fare per car |

When is the best time to go?
October to April. Summer days are hot, and the valley means hours of walking in the sun.
Tabuk is in the north, where winter nights are cold, so pack layers if you will be out until dark. Our weather by month guide has the detail for each season.
Going further from Tabuk
Tabuk is the northern hub for NEOM, AlUla and the Red Sea coast. NEOM sites need access permission arranged through your employer or host before you travel. AlUla is 449 km away, about 6 h, and Duba on the coast is 180 km, a mountain descent of about 2 h.
For a longer loop through the north, see our northern heritage road trip.
